“In these difficult economic times, co-ops and credit unions are flourishing because they offer our communities a better way of doing business.”

Interior Savings and the Okanagan Car Share Co-op are hosting a special evening event, as part of Co-op Week 2013, to celebrate the many co-operatives within our community.

“This is a great opportunity to hear more about the co-op model and why it is important to have healthy and strong co-ops in our community,” says Christian Brandt, Executive Director of the Okanagan Car Share Co-op.

The theme of Co-op Week 2013, which runs from October 13 to 19, is A Better Way.

“People want to want to buy their goods and services from businesses that are sustainable, democratic, socially-conscious and rooted in their communities,” says Kathy Conway, President and CEO, Interior Savings. “They want businesses that put people first and are guided by values and principles. In these difficult economic times, co-ops and credit unions are flourishing because they offer our communities a better way of doing business.”
