Theatre Bc’s Ozone Festival 2015 Winners

Ozone-2015-Theatre-Bc-AwardsThe 2015 Ozone Festival was held in vernon last week. Each year it is put on by Theatre BC, which has served as the parent association for community theatre in the province since 1932. The Festival aims to promote and encourage the development of community theatre. Theatre BC provides leadership and opportunities for participation, education and sharing in the enjoyment of diverse theatre experience.

A huge congratulations goes out the the following winners of the Ozone:

Best Production ‘Our Country’s Good’ – Fred Skeleton Theatre Company, Kelowna
Best Runner Up ‘Having Hope at Home’ – Theatre Kelowna Society
Best Director Rob Mason – Brown for ‘Our Country’s Good’, Fred Skeleton Theatre Company, Kelowna
Best Actor – Roger Ward, in ‘Having Hope at Home’ Theatre Kelowna Society
Best Actress- Janet Anderson, in ‘Doubt’ The Hub Arts Collective, West Kelowna
Best Supporting Actor – Brad Hull in ‘Our Country’s Good’ , Fred Skeleton Theatre Company, Kelowna
Best Supporting Actress – Denise Wolfe in ‘Doubt’ The Hub Arts Collective, West Kelowna
Best Set Design – Jean Angers  & Don Wilcox for  ‘Pack of Lies’ Shuswap Theatre Society, Salmon Arm
Best Light Design –Vanessa Lomas, ‘Our Country’s Good’ Fred Skeleton Theatre Company, Kelowna
Best Sound Design – Monty Hughes for ‘The Diviners’ Powerhouse Theatrical Society, Vernon
Best Costume Design – Shawn Oldham, ‘Our Country’s Good’ Fred Skeleton Theatre Company, Kelowna
Best Props – Karen Morgan, for ‘Pack of Lies’ Shuswap Theatre Society, Salmon Arm
Best Set Décor – Jean Angers,  Don Wilcox, Karen Morgan ‘Pack of Lies’, Shuswap Theatre Society, Salmon Arm
Best Ensemble – Backstage Theatre, for ‘State of Confusion’ Vernon
Best Newcomer – Gus Hansen, ‘The Diviners’ Powerhouse Theatrical Society, Vernon
Adjudicator’s Merit Award – Outstanding new Play by Michael Poirier
Best Backstage Co-operation, Shuswap Theatre Society, Salmon Arm
Ozzie Award – awarded to Dave Brotsky for outstanding service to the Okanagan Zone.

Congratulations to FRED SKELETON THEATRE COMPANY for their win at the Okanagan Zone Festival with "Our Country's Good". We'll see you at Mainstage!!
