To assist families facing a B.C. teachers’ strike, the Kelowna Art Gallery and Bumbershoot Theatre will be offering a fun day of age-appropriate learning, exploration, theatre games, and hands-on activities for children. Children are welcome to be registered for one or more days.

The Kelowna Art Gallery will encourage participants to let their imaginations run wild. Students will learn about artists from the past and present who are inspired by the fantastical, the absurd, and the surreal. Hands-on activities will include drawing, painting, and sculpture projects. At Bumbershoot Theatre children will engage with subjects that are normally taught in the B.C. school curriculum (language, social studies, math and science) through theatre.

The pickup and drop off of participants for all classes will take place at the Kelowna Art Gallery. For activities scheduled at Bumbershoot Theatre, located one block from the Gallery, children will walk accompanied by an adult supervisor. Children are required to bring two snacks, lunch, and a water bottle.
