November 29 will mark the 26th anniversary of the Summerland Festival of Lights, an event that has become synonymous as the official start to the holiday season around the Okanagan Valley.
26 years ago, some creative and thoughtful individuals created the Festival of Lights as great event for Summerland. The goal was to let people know Summerland was a great place to live and visit and give residents and visitors a fantastic experience anticipating Christmas.
For 2013, the light up theme is Carnival. Join the 6,000 friends on November 29 in Summerland where the streets will be glowing throughout the evening. Jazz, R&B, Reggae, drums, masks, fire performances, carnival games and buskers are all in the line-up. The Festival of Lights will turn street dance party as Summerland celebrates Light Up into the night with the 2013 Glow Party.
The fireworks are sponsored by Summerland Credit Union.
