Winter isn’t over yet and there’s still lots of fun for anyone interested in the PowderHounds adaptive ski program. Founded by the Kelowna & District Society for People In Motion, the program offers people aged five to 75, that have a physical and/or sensory disability, an opportunity to enjoy the sport of skiing by using adaptive equipment.
The PowderHounds program runs largely on community support with the help of 45-plus specially trained volunteers. The cost to join is a $10 membership fee, which offers many other benefits including discounted ski passes for participants with a disability, the opportunity to enjoy a variety of adaptive sports and access to People In Motion’s many programs developed specifically for persons with disabilities.
