Fall art classes at the Kelowna Art Gallery

Art ClassRegistration is now underway for Kelowna Art Gallery’s fall art class for adults and youth. Class run from September through November.

“Beginner classes teach students the basic principles of their preferred medium, while also giving them the opportunity to explore and express themselves through visual art,” says Renée Burgess, Head of Public Programming. “More advanced students will build on their existing skills through creative exercises to enhance their abilities.”

Classes range from painting in watercolour, oil, and acrylics, to drawing cartoons. Instruction by the Gallery’s art teachers is supportive, motivating, and inspiring. Local professional artists Rena Warren, Jim Elwood, Evelyne MacMillan, and Carney Oudendag join the list of instructors for the fall classes.

Classes run for six weeks, and cater to absolute beginners as well as to those of intermediate skill level.

Weekend workshops covering practices from digital painting to knitting metal jewellery will also be offered during October and November. Exceptional artist-instructors Augusto Kapronczai, Brenda Douault, Kathryn Newell, Niina Teto and Keith Langegraber will lead the intensive two-day workshops, each exploring a specific medium.
