Friday: Kelowna offers trees for first 400 households

Helping to grow Kelowna’s urban canopy is as easy as one, two, tree. The City of Kelowna’s annual NeighbourWoods program, a residential planting initiative, will start on Friday, March 27.

Open to Kelowna residents, the program has a limit of one tree per household. This year, there will be 400 trees available for purchase at a cost of $40 (GST included).

“The program helps encourage Kelowna residents to grow and preserve our urban forest by providing trees at an affordable rate,” said Andrew Hunsberger, Urban Forest Health Technician. “Trees provide a number of benefits and their positive effects can be felt throughout the city.”
