Interior Savings Supports Kids’ Health

Children and Families are invited to celebrate YMCA Healthy Kids Day Sunday, June 1

The YMCA of Okanagan is pleased to announce that Interior Savings Credit Union will be the title sponsor of YMCA Healthy Kids Day for another year. This FREE community event is set to take place on Sunday, June 1 both inside and outside of Kelowna Family YMCA.

“YMCA Healthy Kids Day touches on an important local issue,” says Kathy Conway, CEO of Interior Savings. “Kids are our future. It is imperative to the health and vitality of our community to invest in kids now, so they can grow into strong leaders. YMCA of Okanagan does outstanding work for local kids and we are pleased to partner with them.”

In a fun festival-like setting, YMCA Healthy Kids Day promotes the benefits of a lifetime of healthy habits. Kids and their parents can enjoy heart-pumping entertainment, valuable resources for their family health, nutritious snacks, games, prizes and more. With a huge array of activities for all ages put on by the YMCA and partner organizations, this playful and informative event will help kids grow in mind, body, and spirit.

“YMCA Healthy Kids Day brings thousands of people together from our community through a common goal—promoting healthier living for our kids,” says Sharon Peterson, YMCA of Okanagan CEO. “The event places special emphasis on showing children, youth and parents that being healthy can be fun and provides simple tips and resources to encourage families to live healthy every day.”

YMCA Healthy Kids Day is a nationally recognized event held each year in over 1,700 Y’s across North America. Kelowna’s event will take place Sunday, June 1 from 12-4pm at the Kelowna Family Y- 375 Hartman Road in Rutland.
