Thank you so much for your recent coverage about Bumbershoot Children’s Theatre. It is gratifying to see that our little theatre organization is getting noticed by Okanagan Life magazine.
Some clarification for your readers regarding our performance venues: We are not performing at the Black Box anymore and all performances will be at Bumbershoot’s new space, in the heart of Kelowna’s cultural district, at 125-1295 Cannery Lane. All main stage performances have been extended to two weeks with Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening performances at 6:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm. The company will be continuing with the popular opening Thursday evening pajama nights, where audience members are encouraged to join us in their pj’s for a live bedtime story and some cookies and milk after the show. Our first production is My Favourite Fairy Tales and will run from January 19 – 29, 2012.
Subscriptions are now on sale for the Bumbershoot 2012 season (single tickets will be available after December 15), and this year the company has added a family pass for two adults and two children for all four main stage performances for $199. Family pass subscribers will enjoy all of the benefits of regular subscribers, including early seating privileges, a 10% discount on class registrations and birthday party bookings, and a special invitation to story time with artistic director, Tracy Ross. Subscribers will be invited enjoy the story being read aloud, a fantastic way to connect the literature to the play and involve young persons even more in the experience.
We look forward to living up to our Editor’s Choice status throughout our fourth season and to entertaining Okanagan children of all ages.
Kind regards,
Tracy Ross,
Artistic Director
